How to Swap a Roommate

Sometimes you may want to replace a roommate or add a new one. This is called a roommate swap and requires advance approval.

All adult occupants must meet screening requirements. This protects your safety, keeps the lease accurate, and ensures rent is paid in full and on time.

1. Submit a written request at least 1 month in advance.

2. Have the new roommate complete the rental application and screening process.

3. Wait for written approval before the new person moves in.

4. If the existing roommate is leaving, coordinate key returns and any lease updates.
