Preventing mold growth is a shared responsibility. Oregon’s damp climate makes mold and mildew common. Proper ventilation, temperature control, and regular cleaning habits protect both your health and the property.

Mold can cause health problems, damage walls and ceilings, and be costly to remove. Moisture control is the best prevention.

1. Keep indoor temperatures at 60°F or higher year-round.

2. Run bathroom fans during and after showers until surfaces are dry.

3. Avoid covering windows or blocking airflow behind furniture — keep it at least 1 inch from walls.

4. Clean small spots with bleach or soap/water (follow product instructions).

5. Consider a dehumidifier or AC unit to reduce humidity.

6. Immediately report any leaks, water intrusion, or persistent condensation via DoorLoop.

7. If mold feels unmanageable, let us know right away.
