Application of Payments
Edited
Overview
When you make a payment, we apply it in a set order: first to any past-due rent, then to current rent, then utilities, then late fees, and finally any other charges.
Why It Matters
If you have older charges, part of your payment might go there first before it hits the current month’s rent. That can make your account look like you still owe money even if you just paid.
If Your Ledger Looks Off
Check your Doorloop ledger if something doesn’t look right.
Try to clear the oldest charges first to avoid late fees.
Reach out if you’d like us to explain how your payment was applied.
